PARENTS OF THE BRIDE

Wendy and Bob grew up in Northeast Philadelphia and were high school sweethearts.  They both attended Temple, where Bob graduated with a degree in accounting and Wendy with a degree in pharmacy.  After marrying in 1973, they moved to Bensalem, where they raised Tara and Jillian and many cats.  As important players in both their children’s lives, Bob taught the girls (and many neighborhood children) piano and volunteered with high school band boosters, while Wendy was the troop leader in for Jillian’s brownie troop, was a PTA mom in elementary school and volunteered with the middle school band boosters.   Now that they have an “empty nest”, Wendy and Bob enjoy going to NYC to see shows on Broadway and traveling the world on the Royal Caribbean Cruise Line, while they patiently wait for grandchildren!

PARENTS OF THE GROOM

Allen and Susie, high school sweethearts, met in homeroom at Washington Park High School in Racine, Wisconsin.  After marrying in 1963, they raised three boys and three girls in rural Pennsylvania and central New Hampshire, sequenced as boy-girl-boy-girl-boy-girl.  Even though their move to New Hampshire was supposed to be temporary, they wound up living there for 23 years.  Finally, in 2008, they moved to Clermont, Florida, where they recently celebrated their 45th Wedding Anniversary with a wonderful weekend at Disney World, just thirty minutes from their home.  Their children and their four grandchildren are now scattered across the eastern part of the US.  Susie, a school psychologist and special educator, is now supervising the special education programs in two Lake County Florida schools.  Allen is completing his nursing training, which is quite a change for an MIT electrical engineer!  While raising children, they have managed extensive travel as well as mission work in Guatemala.  Allen has traveled to six continents, still hoping to travel to Antarctica. Susie has traveled to five continents, still missing Antarctica and Asia. They hope to return to Guatemala in the summer of 2010 or 2011.
